The manual says "use 4x AA batteries." But if you use NiMH rechargeables (1.2V vs 1.5V alkaline), the battery meter will always show low. To recalibrate: Insert fully charged NiMHs → Hold "Band + Memory" buttons together → Power on. The meter now adapts to lower voltage.
