O Chaves original mexicano, apesar de cômico, tem uma veia de tristeza e fome. A dublagem do SBT capturou isso com um tom choroso e sofrido. No Multishow, o Chaves parecia mais um menino levado do que um órfão lutando pela sobrevivência. A empatia sumiu.
