The most recent modified file inside the archive should be FarCry2.exe with a timestamp of (or later for 2026 repacks).

If the game crashes at the "Loading" screen, go to Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2 and delete the GamerProfile.xml . The updated RAR will regenerate it with correct resolutions.
