This paper presents JLinkX64Sys, a framework that repurposes J-Link hardware to enable low-level system call tracing, kernel module debugging, and user-space application instrumentation on x86-64 architectures. We implement a custom transport layer that maps x64 debugging interfaces (e.g., Intel PT, DBGBUS) to J-Link’s serial wire protocol, achieving non-intrusive execution capture at microsecond resolution.
