You cannot just use a random USB cable. The TK-x90 series uses the programming cable specification (single-pin 3.5mm + ground clip) or the KPG-22 (discontinued). Most modern USB programming cables labeled "For Kenwood KPG-46" will work, provided they have a genuine chipset. : Always "Read" the data from your radio
